Showdown Update Our first Natural Horse Showdown event on August 19 was a success! Thanks to the more than 30 horse lovers who attended and competed with their horses, the amazing music from Hometown Pickers and Pungent Lily, Parelli 3-star instructor Doreen Matheson from Nevada; yummy food from Done To Your Taste Catering, Friends of the Sound Horse (FOSH), pet psychic Julie Morgan, our host Natalie Streeter of Midway Equestrian Center, Best Friends, Rockin E, and AA Callister, we raised about $3,500 for our horse-rescue program. I'd like to give special thanks to our wonderful volunteers Misti and Larry Seppi, Jim Miller, Leslie |
Congratulations to the overall winner of the day, Nicole Cardona and her Paint horse Sage of Heber. Other big winners were Melanie Olmstead aboard her horse Maize and her foster horse Bold Again, and Ashley Tippetts and her horse Betty. Adoptable horses Honey, Doc, Duke, Missy, Red Dog and Romeo from Utah Animal Adoption Center and Faith and Peanut from Best Friends were also on hand and showed off their skills and talents beautifully. It was gratifying and inspiring to see so many horse lovers, rescued horses, and students of natural horsemanship together...all to celebrate the possibilities, partnerships and fun to be had with horses! Plan to join us next year to show |
